The challenge
The industrial healthcare sector faces the challenge of creating a robust digital infrastructure for interoperable networking. Health Track-X aims to create this interoperability through compatible interfaces and thus drive digitization by switching to standardized, purely electronic delivery documents. In practical use cases, the project focuses on digitizing the supply chain for medical products and improving data exchange to avoid supply disruptions and bottlenecks. In addition, the introduction of standardized carbon footprint management to assess sustainability along the entire supply chain.
Our contribution
As part of the project, Fraunhofer ISST is pursuing the sub-goal of technically designing a first demonstrator for a data ecosystem in the domain of “production and supply chains in the healthcare sector”, creating it together with other consortium partners and then testing it. The technical basis is provided by components from Gaia-X, Cross Federation Services Components XFSC (formerly GXFS) and Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC). Fraunhofer ISST will adapt and extend a subset of these components specifically for the use cases and infrastructure of the project partners.
Results
Once the project has been completed, a prototype data ecosystem based on the principles of Gaia-X will be available. This ecosystem will make it possible to digitally record and track physical goods and their routes along the supply chain. HealthTrack-X will thus make a significant contribution to the digital transformation in the healthcare sector and create the basis for future innovations.
