Traceability Enforcement of Datatransfers (TREND)

The “Traceability Enforcement of Datatransfers” (TREND) project aims to overcome current challenges in the implementation and enforcement of data sovereignty on a larger scale. By using state-of-the-art, specially developed methods for digital watermarking and steganography, TREND enables secure and robust embedding of metadata in the data to be exchanged. This allows system-independent sovereignty checks to be performed to secure the data owner's data assets and ensure the protection of intellectual property.

TREND is an ecosystem with a watermarking algorithm at its heart. Through an abstract implementation as a library, it can be integrated into existing systems or operated independently. This is supported on the one hand by current research in the field of network technology and on the other hand by extensions for the Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC) Connector, so that watermarks can be used directly in data spaces.

Demonstration

Im folgenden Kurzfilm wird beispielhaft das Wasserzeichen »Fraunhofer ISST« in einem »Lorem ipsum«-Beispieltext eingebettet. Der mit dem Wasserzeichen angereicherte Text wird zur Veranschaulichung in ein Kontaktformular kopiert.
