The challenge
Innovations are increasingly taking place in collaborative networks. However, several challenges arise in the emergence of data-based networks. In addition to solutions for legal and security challenges related to cross-enterprise data exchange, approaches are also needed to create incentives for the various actors to participate in these networks. Such incentives are necessary to meet the strategic importance of data for Germany and Europe and to enable companies to successfully participate in relevant initiatives such as Gaia-X.
Our contribution
Fraunhofer ISST is the consortium leader as a scientific partner for applied research. Our interdisciplinary competences in the field of data economy are applied in the disciplines of data management and strategies, data-driven business models, data evaluation and data economy readiness. To this end, methods are applied to collect and analyze data, both from academia and industry, on the enablement and readiness of organizations to share and manage
Results
The project will produce scientifically-based results to develop incentive systems for cross-organizational data sharing in an application-oriented manner. In addition, research is taking place on data economy requirements related to data management, data strategies, data assessments and data law. This is done jointly with industry to identify prerequisites for datasharing and incentives for participation in data rooms.
