Our location in the "Lighthouse" - New Work at Dortmund Harbor

Since the beginning of 2023, our institute is located in the "Leuchtturm" - our new office building in the Digital Quarter directly at the Dortmund harbor. From here, you can work flexibly in an attractive location in open office spaces, group rooms or individual workstations with height-adjustable desks as well as modern office equipment and technology, or relax a bit in our room of silence. We like to spend our lunch break together in our "bISSTro" or in the extensive range of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

As you can see, we not only create data spaces, but also spaces in which we enjoy working. With our open structures, we enable a new form of working.

 

Work-life balance

A good work-life balance and the compatibility of family and career are important to us. We offer you the possibility to work remotely from home, taking into account the projects. With us, you work under a collective agreement based on the public service (TVöD).

 

Optimal combination of studies and part-time job

We offer students the opportunity to write their final thesis on a project-specific topic related to their daily work. This way, you can combine your studies and your student job with us in the best possible way and receive professional support from us. You can arrange your working hours flexibly in consultation with your team - we will take your schedule and exam periods into account.

 

Doing a PhD at Fraunhofer ISST - we support you

If you work for us as a research assistant, you can identify an exciting and relevant topic from your work with us for a possible doctorate and deepen this in your PhD. You will be optimally supported by our research schools. Here you will benefit from existing knowledge networks, an exchange platform, you will be taught research methods and you can participate in doctoral seminars. At our institute, several doctoral advisors from different disciplines are available to supervise your PhD.
