The challenge
A construction site brings together a wide range of different trades and companies. The earlier information on upstream or downstream activities is available and evaluated, the better the construction site can be managed. An additional challenge for connectivity is that an internet connection is not always available, so that intelligent preprocessing and intermediate storage of data must take place at the construction site for the interaction of edge devices with cloud services to work.
Our service
In the project, Fraunhofer ISST is leading the work package for developing the essential data room components. These are necessary for the use cases based on them to be effective at all. Through shareholdings in other data space initiatives of the Manufacturing-X project family, such as Catena-X, Factory-X, Aerospace-X, HealthTrack-X, as well as in domain-agnostic initiatives (e.g. Eclipse Dataspace Working Group), the aim is to ensure, above all, that these activities, which are already underway, can be connected.
The result
The goal of Construct-X is to increase productivity, efficiency and transparency in the construction industry and in construction projects. In addition, aspects of sustainability and resource conservation should be effectively implemented. The consistent use of data is an essential factor in this, which has so far only been partially implemented in the diverse and heterogeneously organized construction industry. Construct-X aims to make an important contribution to ensuring that future investments in the planning, construction and operation of infrastructure and building construction achieve significantly more and better output
