The challenge
With InGeoDTM, we want to create an exemplary data space for diverse geodata. Modern geodata comes from various digital sources and is much more than just maps; it is indispensable in many areas. Today, traditional geodata is supplemented by georeferenced data from IoT sensor networks, smartphones, vehicles and energy data. Without up-to-date geo and earth observation data, autonomous vehicles, efficient energy planning and sensible urban planning are not possible.
Our service
The aim is to establish a scalable data trustee in the field of geoinformation. Data is of great value today, but often only large platform providers benefit from it, while the creators of data are rarely adequately remunerated. They bear the costs of data creation and management, often provide data for free or pay for access. A manufacturer-independent data space can remedy this situation by effectively managing valuable geodata and making it accessible for applications such as mobility, energy transition and climate protection.
The result
The data trust model is implemented in a largely Gaia-X and IDSA-compliant, horizontal geodata space that provides georeferenced data sources in a trustworthy, vendor-neutral and data-sovereign environment. The initial data comes from partners in science, business and administration. The horizontal geodata space replaces specialized solutions for geodata integration and enables data exchange with other domains.
